This is a challenging class, but is taught with accessible variations. Some experience with yoga is helpful for this class.

Breathwork & Meditation

Th 7:15pm · 60 minutes / You can survive for weeks without food, and days without water, but only a few minutes without breathing. Breathing has an immediate impact on your mind and body and can help improve digestion, reduce insomnia, and lower stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Here, we will explore the ways that pranayama practices, or yoga breathing, influence your nervous system and practice techniques. Following each breathwork session, we will transition into an insight meditation. This class is suitable for all levels of experience!

Meditation Practice

Su 10:45am · 30 minutes / This lightly guided 30-minute meditation provides the unique experience of sitting in quiet, with no background music. We train ourselves to recognize our internal monologue, develop awareness of our distractions, and return back to the present moment. This is a practice of repetition: the success is in seeing the distraction, reestablishing concentration, and cultivating self-regulation. Simple, not easy. Well worth it.

Restorative Yin

T 7:30pm · 60 minutes / Restorative Yin consists of yoga poses done mainly seated or laying down. Most of these shapes are held for several minutes, and are taught with a variety of props to support the body. This class focuses on release, recovery, relaxation, and greater flexibility. For some students, the quiet and still nature of Yin can be challenging, and serves as an opportunity to invite inward focus. Over time, busy minds begin to grow quiet, muscular tension releases, and the nervous system shifts into a relaxation state. This class is suitable for all levels of experience.
